PCAC Youth Excellence in Arts (YEA) Awards Application
Information
The purpose of these awards is to support the development of young artists
who are in the local community. Artists will be recognized for their individual
accomplishments. All finalists will present their work before a judge (or judges)
or will perform live auditions.
How to Apply for the YEA Awards:
Eligibility and Procedures
- Applicants must be Pleasanton residents, or attend school in
Pleasanton, or take private lessons — in their art — from a teacher
in Pleasanton, and must be in grade 6 through 12.
- Applicants must submit the appropriate application form
and recommendation form with all required
supporting documents and materials. The application and recommendation
forms must be typed or printed carefully in ink.
- PCAC reserves the right to disqualify any art work that has
previously won another award.
- The application form, recommendation form and all required materials
must be completed in full and mailed by U.S. Mail only, postmarked

The Granting of Awards
The judges will screen all applicants and notify finalists so that they may
appear and perform at the live auditions or make presentations. The auditions
will be on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from noon to 5 p.m. at the
Firehouse Arts Center, 4444 Railroad Avenue in downtown Pleasanton, CA.
All awards will be at the discretion of the judges. Decisions of the judges
are final.
We will present our YEA Awards and Arts Supporter of the Year Award at the
annual PCAC Awards event at the Firehouse Arts Center on April 19, 2012 at
7 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The award winners and runners-up in
each category will be expected to perform and showcase their art at this event.
