Arts for
All Ages
At Pleasanton’s Horizon High School, the high school for school age mothers
and young fathers, everyone got to enjoy the Fine Arts through combined grants
from the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Foundation, Lawrence Livermore National
Lab and the Pleasanton Schools Educational Enrichment Foundation.
32 students and their children learned about the different arts available to
them and how to encourage art in their home with their own children.

Careers in Art PReSENTATION
At Foothill High School, 200 students learned from illustrator, author and
professor, John Clapp, about the brain of an artist, how to develop your
artistic talents, and what careers are available to those in the arts. One
student said:
"The presentation was incredibly
helpful to me. I am interested in product design, and without Mr. Clapp’s encouragement,
I would never have been able to design
my new pencil sharpener."

Creating Masterpieces
After acclaimed artist, Barbara Daggett, led a directed drawing class at
Fairlands Elementary, third graders were able to explore their creativity,
hone their fine motor skills and concentration, and produce these colorful
works of art.
Third Annual Drawing Extravaganza
With a grant from PCAC, art teachers Michael Doyle (Amador High School) and
Caroline Fields (Foothill High School) put on the Third Annual Drawing
Extravanganza.
Students had the opportunity to do drop in drawing throughout the day and choose
from live models, staged still lives, Greek sculptures and more.
